Several dozen representatives of nationalist organizations - mostly teenagers - dragged tires to the city hall building in the morning, stacked them in front of the entrance, and then set the tires on fire.
In response, several dozen people in camouflage attacked the protesters. They began to throw to the ground and wring the hands of protesters against increasing subway fares.
The head of the “Coalition of Participants of the Orange Revolution” Sergei Melnichenko claims that several people were detained and beaten in the city hall, after which they were taken to the police station.
Melnichenko insists that the arson of the tires was unknown, and that it was not part of the protesters’ plans to start a fire. As proof of this, Melnichenko cites the fact that one of the detainees received severe facial burns from burning tires.
Melnichenko himself was among those detained. He claims that representatives of the military registration and enlistment office arrived at the police station, threatening to take him to the ATO zone. However, Melnichenko has a disability - he previously had a tumor removed from his head.
Melnichenko’s comrade-in-arms Tatyana Likhodeeva clarifies that a criminal case has already been opened against the participants of the action under the article of group hooliganism, they are threatened with imprisonment of up to 4 years in prison.
Let us remind you that from Friday the price of public transport in Kyiv has doubled.
