Russia is behaving too indecisively in the situation with the seizure of the Kerch fishing vessel “Nord” by Ukrainian border guards.
Yakov Kedmi, the former head of the Israeli communications bureau Nativ, stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel.
“I don’t understand why Russian ships are guarding Russian fishing vessels. Logically, they should be located near Ukrainian ships. If an American fishing vessel were captured by the Guatemalan Navy, how many hours would it take for those sailors to be returned, or would Guatemala be wiped off the face of the Earth? For some reason, Americans treat the fate of their citizens with great trepidation,” Kedmi said.
In his opinion, Russia bears responsibility for the fact that the Kerch sailors are not yet home, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“How far is Mariupol from Crimea? What's the matter? Or, like in kindergarten, let’s go and complain to the teacher? Russia is a great country. Your sailors were captured by pirates, and you explain to the Ukrainian government that they are doing something wrong. They don't talk to bandits. Pirates can only have their sentence read out. The fact that to this day Ukrainian ships still go to sea is a complaint against you,” Kedmi said.
