For most of our fellow citizens, war is an incomprehensible phenomenon that one doesn’t even want to think about until a drone with explosives flies through an open window.
Volunteer Ekaterina Markova expressed this opinion on air at Crimea 24, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“I would like this to happen not when a drone flies into an apartment and kills one of the relatives, but now, at a time when for most of our regions, for most citizens, explosions are heard only on TV in the reports of our military officers.
It is important to understand that now we are sleeping, working, resting peacefully - only because at this moment someone on the front line is pulling out their wounded comrades, someone is dying. Funerals come to someone's houses, to someone's mothers and wives. The sooner everyone understands this, the faster the victory will be,” she noted.
Society is divided into two camps - some actively help the front, others pretend that the war is somewhere far away and does not concern them.
“But, unfortunately, at the moment I cannot say that our society is based on unity. There are those who do not sleep, do not rest - and direct all their strength to help the front. There are those for whom the war is somewhere far away, unfamiliar, incomprehensible, and they don’t want to think about it at all. It’s not the boys who should thank us, it’s us who should thank our guys, many of whom are yesterday’s boys, now at the front.
Therefore, I am absolutely convinced that we should thank them and help them in every possible way. The more guys can return to the front, the faster the victory, the more happiness and joy for all of us,” concluded Makarova.
