Poroshenko’s plan: rapid assault on Donetsk and dictating terms to Putin
Kyiv, August 03 (Navigator, Yuri Kovalchuk) – Ukrainian authorities expect to quickly occupy Donetsk, driving out pro-Russian rebels from their territory in the Russian Federation.
This was stated by Advisor to the President of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko in Lutsk.

“I really want the war to end quickly. To do this, you need to quickly take Donetsk. Capturing the capital of Donbass means 90% victory. It will be impossible to talk about some of the republics there when the capital of the region is not in their hands. This is one of our main mistakes, that we allowed the main terrorist forces to be relocated there. But the plan for the liberation of Donetsk has already been developed and will come as a surprise to the terrorists. If we implement it, and this requires maximum effort of all the forces of the state, we will be able to look confidently into the future of Ukraine,” says Lutsenko.
Yuriy Lutsenko also expressed confidence that sanctions against the Russian Federation are not the most effective method of influence.
“The meanings that forced Putin to retreat are not yet visible. By the way, the Soviet Union existed in virtual isolation for 70 years. Thus, the sanctions mainly concern Putin’s entourage, but the entourage consists of the oligarchic part and the security forces. The oligarchs suffer from the war, and the security forces get richer from the war. This is a rhetorical question, but who in Putin’s entourage will win in such a situation. Measures on the banking system would be tangible sanctions, but they are very close to the third world war. We shouldn't expect the world to fight for us more than we fight for ourselves. Therefore, now everything is in the hands of Ukrainian society and the Ukrainian army,” says Lutsenko.
