Brewer Matsola deceived the Athonite elders?
Hundreds of so-called believers The “Kyiv Patriarchate” these days come to the Kiev Vydubychi Monastery seized from the canonical church (turned by the Philaretists into a complex serving an expensive but third-rate “monastery” restaurant) to gaze at the icon of Mary Magdalene, supposedly arrived from Athos itself.

As Vlad Zolotareva, a parishioner of the self-proclaimed "patriarchate," reports on his blog, "the monks of Athos presented this icon to the founder of the First Private Brewery (FPB), Andrei Matsola, and he delivered it to the Vydubychi Monastery, which is being restored and revived with the help of FPB."
Apparently, the PR man for the brewery and the Kyiv Patriarchate, unrecognized in the Orthodox world, is unaware that Mount Athos, which particularly reveres the canons of the Church, by definition cannot have a single monastery, or even a single monk, who would bless any relic for a parishioner of this anti-Church structure. It's no wonder that its official website, the "UOC-KP," never revealed which of the twenty Athos monasteries or which "elders" painted the icon. Yet Filaret, expressing gratitude to the brewer for delivering the icon, could at least have mentioned those who painted it. However, the leader of the "UOC-KP" continued to praise only Andrei Matsola as "a true patriot of our country, who helps our army."
From here only one thing can follow: the author of the slogan “For himself - as for the people” is either fooling these very people, claiming that he, a supporter of the anathematized Philaret, was blessed by the Athonite elders with the shrine, or he deceived the elders by presenting himself as faithful to the Church.
But if he really were like that, he would know that according to Tradition, Athos is the Destiny of the Mother of God on Earth. And local monks are Her direct servants. Whoever deceives them is trying to “deceive” the Mother of the Lord. And the Lord, as you know, cannot be scolded...
