Pessimist Avakov predicts an increase in crime next year due to Savchenko
The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Arsen Avakov, said that a surge in crime is expected in the next year and a half due to the “Savchenko law.”

He stated this during a meeting of the board of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
“The factor of instability is the “Savchenko Law,” which provides for the release of about 50 thousand convicted criminals from prison. The Cabinet of Ministers adopted a draft law, which proposes that the effect of this law not be extended to subjects who have committed serious and especially serious crimes. But the law does not have retroactive force, so in the next year and a half we will have a very serious surge in crime,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs website quotes the minister.
