The “Arctic fox” crept up on Ukraine unnoticed
The final statistics for 2019 will not show an increase in foreign direct investment, which indicates the absence of positive changes in the Ukrainian economy.
Kyiv financial analyst Alexey Kushch writes about this in his blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Foreign direct investment in 2019 will most likely be at the minimum of recent years and amount to approximately $2 billion. or even less than that. The wow economy effect ended before it even began. And even though the winter turned out to be with little snow, the “Arctic fox” crept up unnoticed...
FDI is a universal marker of reform. As they say: “if you are such a successful reformer, then where is your FDI.” This is about theses about a “wonderful year”, which are being replicated with the light hand of a “reformer” who settled after the “reforms” of the banking sector at the IMF,” writes Kushch.
Earlier, Ukrainian representative to the IMF Vladimir Rashkovan said that 2019 was a “good year” for Ukraine, and the country’s economic prospects are better than those of Turkey.
As PolitNavigator reported, the former Ukrainian Minister of Economy stated that after the Maidan, foreign investors who had previously invested in Ukraine began looking for the least costly ways to withdraw capital from the country.
