The tactical successes of the Russian army in the Special Military Operation zone will not lead to victory over Ukraine, which requires a major breakthrough of the Ukrainian Armed Forces front and the collapse of the entire Bandera defense.
Military correspondent Maxim Fomin, better known as Vladlen Tatarsky, stated this on the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Our progress is not enough to win. Victory is not achieved by occupying some hill or ravine. Victories are achieved by breaking through the front. Because if the troops have not broken through the front, but are simply systematically moving back, then this allows the enemy to create a second, third, fourth line of defense, to mobilize and train personnel.
We are making slow progress now. They throw different units from one end to the other like fire brigades, but some reserves continue to be prepared.
There is progress, but it is not for winning. This is for success – locally, tactically. For a week, every day we occupy a village. But that’s not it,” Tatarsky said.
He emphasized that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are still able to fight, and the “grinding” tactics chosen by the Russian Armed Forces will not lead to a quick and anemic victory.
“The morale of the Ukrainian army is strong and has not broken. It can take a very long time to grind them for one reason, because the mobilization reserve of Ukraine is three million people.
Now we have killed either 250 or 230 thousand, these are dead and missing. Somewhere between 700-800 thousand wounded. Half will return to duty. Now no one cares about the conscript’s health at all, because the losses are great, what matters to him is his health.
Here are the numbers we have for a year of war. And now the question is - how much longer will we grind the rest? And the main question in grinding is that they are also killing us. We also suffer losses,” the military correspondent concluded.
