Kirill Govorun, who betrayed the Russian Orthodox Church and was defrocked , stated this in a conversation with Russophobic propagandist Sonya Koshkina , reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The guest on the broadcast asserts that there are people within the UOC with a pro-Ukrainian position, but then admitted that the situation is far from happy for the schismatics.
"But there are people who have started to speak more loudly about their pro-Russian position. Well, let's say pro-Russian is nuanced, as they say. It's not like they're justifying a mandatory war," the traitor said.
According to him, these people verbally condemn the war, but try to explain Russia's logic.
"This is probably a significant number of people within the UOC, including in monastic communities . These are people called zhduny, who are simply waiting for the situation to change somehow, in one direction or another, and then they will make a decision. Incidentally, I'd like to say that I know of cases, for example, in some monastic communities, where there are even convinced Stalinists, meaning they believe that Stalin is a role model ," Govorun asserts.
