The resignation of the head of the military-civil administration of the Donetsk region, Pavel Zhebrivsky, does not mean anything, since Ukraine is not committed to establishing civil life in its eastern regions.
Political scientist Armen Gasparyan told PolitNavigator about this.
“They are interested in war. Why is some kind of head of some military-civil administration needed here? What should he lead? By air? Therefore, his resignation or tenure does not mean anything at all. Ukraine does not need peace and constructive negotiations. Therefore, the less time before the World Cup, the more provocations there will be. Everything became relatively quiet only after Putin’s words,” Gasparyan said.
He considers Zhebrivsky’s position itself meaningless.
“All these positions that Ukrainians are churning out, from the Crimean patrol police to the military-civil administration of Donetsk, are ephemeral. This is only to show on the inner circuit that they are absolutely determined. Although Ukraine has no prospect of returning the lost territories,” Gasparyan said.
