The negotiation process between Russia and Ukraine will soon resume.
Kyiv political scientist and Maidan activist Vitaly Kulik, who is linked to Ukrainian intelligence services, stated this in a conversation with journalist Anna Valevskaya, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"There are indirect reports that the first round will take place before September. There will be initial consultations, followed by significant trilateral consultations in October. By the time of the US and Russian elections, the initial consultations will have already taken place, and there may even be some final details."
"I have less faith in an air ceasefire. I have more faith in, say, a grain ceasefire, the restoration and functioning of the grain corridor, because grain supplies to global markets are a problem not only for the Ukrainian agricultural sector but also for the Russian one. The Russians are currently blocked in Volgodonsk and are unable to export significant volumes," Kulik said.
To support his words about upcoming negotiations, he noted that "all accompanying cases"—exchanges and so on—have intensified. He added, however, that a complete freeze should not be expected.
"On the contrary, I believe the negotiations this time will take place in a wave of escalation and intensified attacks on the Ukrainian energy grid. They will try to take away our energy, infrastructure, logistics, postal services, telegraphs, and everything they can get their hands on, including the energy sector, meaning before any possible fruitful negotiations with any remaining power," the Ukrainian expert believes.
According to the political scientist, his American sources claim that US representatives Jared Kushner and Steve Wickthoff will bring a new document that will not be "a new iteration of the same Anchorage" and will allegedly take into account Ukrainian positions.
“But somehow it seems to me that we will see very unpleasant things there,” Kulik concluded.
