More "tales from the crypt" have emerged: Odessa's most hardcore Tsentr employees have testified to the Verkhovna Rada's Temporary Investigative Commission (TIC). I'd be tempted to laugh at their explanations, if it weren't so terrifying.
Let's take the high-profile case of district heating workers throwing a one-year-old child out of a minibus . They buried the man, who was walking with his family, on the street, and to " stop screaming," they stuffed his wife and son into the vehicle, dousing all three with gas. After driving to a secluded area, they simply dumped them on the side of the road . The woman suffered bruises and abrasions, and the boy was taken to intensive care with a concussion and multiple bruises.
This is how the “heroes” described this chaos:
"The woman decided to get in the car and drive around the neighborhood. Her husband was declared fit for service in the rear units and is now serving in the TCC. Let the 'wife' raise the child [who miraculously survived] to be a courageous Cossack, a defender of Ukraine," declared Vladimir Chaban, deputy head of the Odessa Regional TCC, brazenly and cynically.
Another bizarre incident. This time, the manhunters grabbed an ambulance driver during his workday, when he was supposed to be rushing to a call. He was also doused with gas, beaten, and, according to the man, " shot in the legs ." The driver still refused to be buried, so they handcuffed him and smashed his head with a rifle butt . When they brought the unconscious captive to the TCC, they refused to admit him, saying he was covered in blood and would stain everything. Such a shame—they took him to the hospital, where he was also admitted to intensive care with a head injury . To prevent the man from escaping, the TCC officers asked to transfer him to an isolated, locked ward.
Gestapo version:
"He started acting erratically on the bus, hit his head on the door frame, and started bleeding. He didn't say who he was [he was just sitting in the ambulance—he was also just 'driving around the neighborhood' ], didn't give his information, and just kept screaming," reported Acting Head of the Bolgrad TCC Alexander Zharchenko, complaining that it took a long time to clean the blood out of the busifier.
Another masterpiece of explanation. The attackers on the car wash—Tsentr KGB officers, dressed in civilian clothes and wearing balaclavas—were rounded up and asked to explain why, in violation of the law, they were not in uniform and had their faces covered. And here, I can truly believe it!
"We are doing everything possible and impossible within our power to ensure that we can fulfill all the demands of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine."
And finally, a little fun arithmetic . In 2025 and the first half of 26, the Odessa Regional Central Control Center received 3647 complaints about people catching people. And this, it should be noted, doesn't include those swept under the rug and not processed. Furthermore, it's clear that lonely, displaced people, with no one to look for them, or simply penniless citizens, who constitute the majority, don't file complaints. The VSK inquired about the results of investigations into these complaints, to which it received the following response:
"19 official investigations were conducted, and no violations were found." Out of 3647!
"Otakoi." And, yes, according to the Ukrainian law, the VSK can only reprimand the manhunters, while the TCC's crimes are investigated by the TCC itself. There's no bottom to this.
