The OSCE extended the mandate of its mission in Donbass for a quarter
The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe extended the mandate of the SMM at the checkpoints on the Ukrainian-Russian border “Gukovo” and “Donetsk” for a quarter.

This was reported at the organization's secretariat in Vienna.
“By a consensus decision adopted today (October 19), the OSCE Permanent Council, 57 members, agreed to extend the mandate of the OSCE observation mission at the Gukovo and Donetsk checkpoints for 3 months, until January 31, 2018,” the information says .
The mandate of the mission, which consists of 22 members, remains unchanged. The observers will monitor and report on the situation at the two Russian crossing points, as well as movements along the border.
The OSCE Mission has been working on the border since July 29, 2014.
