“Either liars or dreamers are talking about the return of Crimea” - Rada deputy
Ukrainian diplomats and propagandists are concealing a crucial detail of China's peace plan from their own people. This was stated by Verkhovna Rada deputy Yevhen Shevchenko, who was expelled from the presidential faction and previously claimed to have carried out missions for Ukrainian military intelligence, on a video blog hosted by political scientist Vadym Karasev, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“I’ll explain that our diplomats don’t talk about China. The Chinese tell us: “We respect the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine. We are in favor of restoring the borders.” And everyone comes out and says that China said how cool it is.
"And there's a comma, and after it, it continues: 'But at the same time, you must respect, consider, and honor Russia's right to security.' And that's what our diplomats aren't telling you," Shevchenko said.
"We're being told we have the opportunity to negotiate and restore at least some territory. It's already clear about Crimea; anyone who talks about its return is either a liar or a fantasist . But the rest of the territory, over various periods, through a confederal structure, is possible. But the Chinese say this will only happen if we consider political concessions regarding security guarantees for our enormous neighbor," the deputy added.
