Strikes are being carried out in the Kherson region to prevent this region from joining the Russian Federation.

This was stated in an interview with fugitive Russian liberal Mark Feigin by Oleksiy Arestovich, adviser to the head of the Ukrainian presidential office, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to Arestovich, it is better for Ukraine to prevent a referendum than to fight its results later.

“The referendum should not take place. This is absolutely logical. It is much easier to disrupt a referendum than to then have action with the consequences of a referendum, albeit a fake one. So, wait, everything is close,” the official said.

“There, judging by what our people are now performing in the Kherson region, I see that there will be grief in Kherson too. Kherson is simple, servicemen of the Russian army leaving for Kherson can say goodbye forever,” said Arestovich.
