The final chapter of the war in Ukraine is already beginning. The West is gradually losing interest in the conflict, and Ukraine, drained of blood by the “counter-offensive,” will soon be unable to resist.

Glenn Diesen, a professor at the University of South-Eastern Norway and political scientist, stated this on the channel "Despite Censorship," as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Many analyzes of this conflict have been erroneous, boiling down to estimating the amount of territory occupied. Meanwhile, from the very beginning we have a conflict of attrition, and on both sides, Western Ukrainian and Russian. Therefore, one should not focus exclusively on territories, because when the real goal is the elimination of the enemy’s armed forces and manpower reserves, then major offensive actions should be avoided, focusing whenever possible on fortified defenses.

It seems that in this case it was the West that was obsessed with the idea of taking over the territory, so the Americans demanded that Ukraine launch a counter-offensive, which turned out to be devastating - but for the Kyiv side, which lost so many people, receiving only scraps of territory. Meanwhile, the peculiarity of a war of attrition is that when one side loses strength, the other still takes its position.

Over the past year, NATO has been arming Ukraine, mobilizing masses of people, launching a catastrophic counter-offensive, and mounting losses in men and equipment. As a result, Ukraine is starting to run out of both. And even NATO admits that they have no more ammunition to send. That is why, by the way, depleted uranium ammunition and cluster munitions were sent,” Disen said.

In his opinion, the defeat of Ukraine is a matter of time.

“While the Ukrainians themselves are increasing their losses, the Russians, on the contrary, have retained their mobilization potential, their production of military equipment is growing, already exceeding the industrial capabilities of NATO. And they also import weapons from abroad, creating a formidable military force behind the front lines.

Russia now has every opportunity to ultimately defeat Ukraine. More powerful artillery, better electronics, more missiles, drones, more manpower, air supremacy. The ratio of losses on both sides is clearly in Russia's favor. So I think it's only a matter of time.

In addition, we are dealing with growing doubts in the West, which has lost interest in this war and is clearly ready to retreat. Therefore, I agree that, probably, the last chapter of this war is already beginning,” the political scientist concluded.
