"Nothing to do with Russia's interests" – scientist on US desire to interfere with Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant
The ongoing rumors about the US's upcoming participation in the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, supposedly as a compromise with Ukraine, have no bearing on Russia's interests.
This was stated on the First Sevastopol channel by Yuri Braslavsky , associate professor at the SevSU Institute of Nuclear Energy, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"All these attempts, of course, in my opinion, have nothing to do with the interests of the Russian side, because, let me remind you, the Zaporizhzhya NPP is a Russian nuclear facility," Braslavsky emphasized.
The expert recalled that the American company Westinghouse had been trying to oust Russia from the Ukrainian nuclear fuel market since the time of Viktor Yushchenko.
"There was a desire to distance Ukraine from Russia, at least in this way, plus make money on fuel supplies," he said.
An expert considers statements about the joint use of nuclear power plants for mining absurd.
"Considering the severe energy shortage, after the Zaporizhzhya NPP units are launched, we need to focus on power supply to the surrounding areas, not on mining. Applications, for example, to apply for Ukrainian territory, are also being made. But the question is where this Ukrainian territory will be after the end of the Second World War ," Braslavsky noted.
