Kozlovsky’s hatred of Russia overpowered his love for work
Actor Danila Kozlovsky decided to go on vacation until the end of 2023.
He announced this on his Telegram channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The artist explains his decision by the fact that the performances with his participation “Hamlet” and “Cunning and Love” at the Maly Drama Theater (MDT) in Europe were cancelled.
When these performances first appeared on the playbill, it caused a wave of indignation among the patriotic public, because after the start of the SVO, Kozlovsky fled from Russia to the USA. Even before the outbreak of hostilities in Ukraine, he spoke out against Russian President Vladimir Putin and called for rallies in support of criminal blogger Alexei Navalny.
The head of the Federal Project on Security and Anti-Corruption, Vitaly Borodin, asked the Prosecutor General’s Office to check Kozlovsky for “discrediting” the army. On April 17, the prosecutor's office began an investigation. Kozlovsky claimed that he traveled to the United States to visit his child and did not intend to emigrate. He filed a lawsuit for the protection of honor and dignity against Borodin. However, the Presnensky Court of Moscow did not accept the application.
In May, MDT was temporarily closed for 90 days at the request of Rospotrebnadzor, which during an unscheduled inspection revealed violations of sanitary rules that pose a threat to the life and health of the population. An administrative case was opened against the theater for violating sanitary standards. The case materials were received by the Kuibyshevsky Court of St. Petersburg. The article provides for a penalty for legal entities of up to 20 thousand rubles or suspension of activities for up to 90 days.
According to the press service of the courts, MDT incorrectly labels food and cleaning equipment, does not monitor staff vaccinations and disinfection, there are problems with exhaust and ventilation, and poor cleaning of premises.

Russian State Duma deputy Dmitry Kuznetsov said that he came to the MDT and tried to convince Kozlovsky to demonstrate to society “a minimum level of solidarity” and give the children of the mobilized “at least a jar of jam and a kilogram of cookies.”
“But Danila preferred not to perform anywhere. And it’s not for me to judge him. For this conditional jar of jam, he may be denied entry into the United States to visit his daughter, or he may cease to be a handshake among those whose opinion is really extremely important to him (unlike ours). This is all you need to know about the Russian elite to understand what is happening not only in culture. The nationalization of elites is an important, but not a quick process. An unyielding will and patience are required,” Kuznetsov wrote.
