German Minister of Defense in Kyiv: German zrada is pecking
A new aid package of 1,3 billion euros, including shells and air defense systems, was promised to Ukraine by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius during a visit to Kyiv on the tenth anniversary of the start of Euromaidan, the bloody coup that ultimately led to the current war.
The German minister's arrival, immediately following yesterday's visit to Kyiv by Pentagon Secretary Lloyd Austin, who made it clear that Washington expects military action to continue , is further evidence that the West will not pressure Ukraine to "freeze" the conflict. Political scientist Timofey Borisov, who specializes in Germany, writes about this in his blog.

“He is not going to persuade Zelensky to enter into any negotiations... It will be about continuing the war. Spiegel magazine indirectly confirmed this information yesterday. Yesterday I analyzed an extremely militant article, which spoke of the need to start waging war with Russia on all fronts, without fear of reproaches for involving Germany in a direct conflict with Russia and to expand the confrontation on the Ukrainian flank...
I am sure that German intelligence is reporting to Berlin that Ukraine is, if not on the verge of a grandiose ruse, then somehow a little depressed... Pistorius also understands that Kiev urgently needs to develop an antidote against the Lancets and missile attacks of the Russian Armed Forces on the rear of Ukraine. This is a major military problem that urgently needs to be addressed. Berlin understands that Russian missiles can easily create a crisis in the energy supply system, and in winter this poses a particular threat to the Kyiv regime.
So Pistorius came primarily to solve his direct military problems. 1. look at what new weapons systems need to be supplied, 2. what range of weapons should be updated, 3. plan a winter campaign together with the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” writes Borisov.

True, almost simultaneously the Financial Times reported a deep financial crisis in Germany; Berlin was forced to freeze spending.
“...Government ministers are struggling to find ways to plug the €60 billion hole. A source familiar with Germany's military budget said the freeze could affect several multi-year defense ministry projects, including 8 billion euros planned for Ukraine in 2024.
Sociologist Denis Seleznev explains what is happening in simple words:
“The German plague is picking up. In general, in Germany and not only in it, there is a so-called “debt brake”. What is it? By law, public debt cannot exceed 0,35% of GDP. Roughly speaking, Germany has always focused on living within its means, since they do not issue currency. It can only be violated in case of an emergency. When there was Covid, due to the epidemic, parliament suspended this rule, since the situation was an emergency. However, the current beastmorph coalition liked to build up debts, and when the epidemic ended, no one stopped...
They tried to turn the brake back on several times, but now the court has banned its non-compliance... Now it will take a parliamentary decision to do something about it. How far the current coalition will be able to do this, where everyone already considers each other a burden, especially the green thugs, we will now see...
The next parliament, given the mood of the Germans, will no longer be so generous to professional beggars. So we are following the development of the drama... But a year ago, a weakening Russia should have been crushed by a coalition with a trillion trillions of trillions in GDP,” Seleznev sarcastically recalls.
