“If they don’t sign the law on mobilization, we will leave the cities” - Ukrainian Armed Forces officer
Without mobilization replenishment in the new year, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will abandon occupied cities en masse and reduce the front line.
A deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the previous convocation, a Nazi and ex-militant of the National Battalion “Aidar”, and now an officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Igor Lapin, stated this on air on the Lvov NTA TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

In his opinion, having had plenty of publicity on the amendments flirting with draft dodgers, the deputies will still vote for a new mobilization bill by the end of February, and Zelensky will sign it.
“If this doesn’t happen, or they sabotage or fail, then blaming it on the military will not work. The military will simply reduce the front line. How to hold it? We can't hold back with our bodies. We do not have the advantage of artillery. Russian aviation dominates the skies. Minister of Digital Information Fedorov slammed the army of drones. Special communications - the money was robbed. No new electronic warfare stations are being developed to combat Russian drones...
And the Russians are putting pressure, they are increasing it, they have Shaheds, Lancets, heat-seeking FPV drones. But we don’t have all this,” Lapin listed.
He expressed confidence that Zelensky will not veto the bill, because otherwise there are serious risks of losing territories.
“We will lose a lot of cities if we have nothing to defend them with. The shortage of shells is not going away. On the shoulders of volunteers and on the shoulders of those who rushed to the military registration and enlistment office in 2022, we will not crawl to the borders of 1991.
And we will leave cities, we will leave territories. How to keep them? Zaluzhny said clearly: the land is important, but people must be protected. We will defend as long as we can, but if we have to, we will retreat. What did you think? The war, unfortunately, is so tough,” explained the VSUshnik.
