"They kill us every day, but they idolize some volunteer in a Rover": Ukrainian Armed Forces battalion commander on the assassination attempt on Sternenko
Ukrainian media pay a lot of attention to the professional “patriots” in the rear, forgetting about the thousands who die at the front.
The commander of the UAV battalion of the 152nd brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, call sign "Ham", stated this on the air of the video blog of journalist Anna Maksimchuk, a correspondent of "PolitNavigator" reports.
“The information space is still discussing assassination attempt on Sternenko. And we see that a person has become a hero today – he travels in an [armored] Range Rover, and even has security. What feelings does it feel like to hear such information,” the presenter asked.
"I don't understand why they're trashing him like that. He was an ordinary person, an activist, and there was an assassination attempt. So what? There are assassination attempts on the military every day – on me, on my guys from the battalion, on the infantry"Let's spread this every day?" said "Ham".
He was outraged that various rear-echelon figures were receiving an unjustifiably large amount of attention.
"BUT here the media immediately spread the word that Sternenko is idolized. As before, the same thing happened with various bloggers, and all that. Various Telegram channels began to simply advertise: “Oh God, an attack on Sternenko.”
But he is just an ordinary [volunteer]. Many military training sessions are held by the same thousand-man soldiers who serve at the same time,” the battalion commander complained.
