Naftogaz threatens Gazprom with new lawsuits
NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine is ready to begin new legal proceedings against Gazprom if the latter violates the terms of the transit agreement.
This was stated in a conversation on Radio NV by the adviser to the head of the board of Naftogaz, former deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Elena Zerkal, reports a correspondent of PolitNavigator.

“Of course [new lawsuits against Gazprom] are possible. If Gazprom violates the transit agreement, we are, of course, ready to start legal proceedings. Two agreements were concluded. The first concerned the settlement of all existing disputes, and which determines that all disputes that existed between the parties before December 31 of last year remain outside the boundaries of all future disputes and that they can no longer be the subject of dispute by the parties. And a new transit agreement is concluded, taking into account the fact that everything that happened before remains outside the boundaries of the relationship,” Zerkal said.
She noted that Naftogaz continues to receive money from Gazprom in the volumes specified in the contract, despite a 42% decrease in transit.
“Despite the decrease in volumes, we continue to receive money for transit in the volumes specified in the agreement, since it is written in such a way that, despite the decrease in volumes, the money goes to the account of Naftogaz,” said Elena Zerkal.
