“Puffing up cheeks”: Kiev did not appreciate the Swedes’ offer to provide planes
Ukraine will not be able to collect aircraft in the same way as armored vehicles - from different countries a little at a time.
President of the Ukrainian Aviation Association of Pilots and Aircraft Owners Gennady Khazan stated this on the Espreso Internet channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The presenter asked to comment on the proposal voiced in Sweden to give Ukraine Gripen aircraft while the Americans are dragging their feet with their F-16s.
“This is a completely different plane. This is a political issue and a conversation about nothing, blah blah blah, puffing out one’s cheeks. These are different aircraft that will require completely different things.
The F-16 complex is one aircraft that requires certain elements for maintenance, and the Gripen is a Swedish platform that requires something completely different,” Khazan said.
He emphasized that if Ukraine recruits different types of aircraft, it will not be possible to control it all.
“You cannot make a menagerie out of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in which there is a pair for each creature. This means that some people suggest taking a little here, taking a little there. How can we use all this equipment later?” – the expert summed up.
