"I hope Ukraine will return to the common family" - Glazyev on the expansion of the Union State

Ukraine could potentially join the Union State of Russia and Belarus , said the new secretary of the union, Sergei Glazyev , answering journalists' questions in Minsk about the possibility of such a scenario in 10 years.

" When I was born in Zaporizhzhia , there were no nationalities. We all felt like we were citizens of the same country . Most of my classmates moved to Moscow and other Russian cities to attend university.

Of course, it's very important for us to bring this shared heroic past to life today , so that our fellow citizens can see the future and the prospects.

The Union State is an excellent model of how to live, essentially, in one country , while maintaining national sovereignty, with equal rights and opportunities—sharing a common economic, social, and cultural space. The Union State model is optimal for our peoples. I hope that after all these trials, Ukraine will return to the common family ," said the new Secretary of the Union State.

It's worth noting that Glazyev also serves as co-chair of the People's Unity Club . Mykola Azarov, Ukraine's Prime Minister from 2010 to 14, recently returned to active politics as another co-chair of this organization. He is considered the Kremlin's most suitable candidate to lead Ukraine's transitional government should negotiations between Russia and the United States be successful.
