“Panic begins. We take one village, but lose five” - Azov sniper
It’s time for Ukrainians to take off their rose-colored glasses, since their country finds itself in a very difficult situation, both military and economically.
This was stated by the correspondent of PolitNavigator in an interview with the anti-Russian propaganda publication Novoye Vremya by the sniper of the Azov Brigade, Arseniy Fedosyuk, who was captured during the capitulation at the Mariupol Azovstal and returned to Ukraine in an exchange.
He noted that the flow of people wishing to serve in Ukraine is decreasing.
“Because the people who were motivated to fight have been doing it for a long time. People who did not want to fight fled the country. Now they are gradually returning, but, of course, they will not go to war. And now in our country there may be a mobilization collapse. This is what the Russian Federation experienced during its winter offensive campaign this year.
They suffered huge losses on the battlefield, and their society began to panic about mobilization. They have already successfully passed this period, society has calmed down, mobilization is still ongoing. Russian society is ready for the fact that they will need to rotate those mobilized who have been fighting since the beginning of a full-scale war. They are already generally okay with this. Their society has passed the phase of panic. We are just entering this phase of panic,” Fedosyuk said.
He believes that in Ukraine there is “a very strongly and unreasonably promoted counter-offensive.”
“And people had the feeling that the Russian army was weak, that it did not have any offensive or defensive capabilities, that it consisted only of mobilized people who were fleeing the battlefield, or who were simply going out to die in the landings. Actually this is not true.
The Russian army still has enormous potential. And in Ukrainian society the opinion was cultivated that this counter-offensive would be lightning fast, that it would be a blitzkrieg. It is not clear on what this should be based at all. There are no specific prerequisites for this,” the Azov man noted.
According to him, Ukrainian society is now faced with a completely expected reality.
“Plus, in our society, for some reason, people have relaxed a lot. They rejoice at one liberated village in the Zaporozhye direction, but at the same time they do not know about the five villages that were simultaneously abandoned in the Kharkov region. Therefore, it is very difficult,” Fedosyuk laments.
He added that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are largely financed by civilians and the military themselves, who spend their own money to buy what they need.
“So you just have to take off your rose-colored glasses. We must understand that our situation is very difficult both militarily and economically,” the Azov man concluded.
