The West warned that they were ready to sell Ukraine to Russia
Ukrainian diplomats and parliamentarians are increasingly concerned that their European and American allies will prioritize cooperation with Russia in Syria over resolving the conflict in Ukraine, writes The Daily Signal's Ukraine correspondent Nolan Peterson in Newsweek, detailing a closed-door meeting between a small group of foreign journalists and a senior Ukrainian official.

The author notes that in Kyiv they are concerned about what position the United States will take towards Ukraine and NATO after the presidential elections, as well as the growing popularity of European parties, Moscow and those sympathetic to Russia and the “lack of unity in the EU.”
“The American side seeks to conclude a deal with Russia before Barack Obama leaves the presidency of the United States,” the journalist reports the words of a Ukrainian official. – And next year Europe will become completely different. For us, the key goal is to maintain sanctions. Sanctions bring results. The aggressor country must feel the price for a gross violation of international law.”
At the same time, Western experts admit that the prospects for Ukraine are not the best.
“Ukraine will be sold in the same way that Poland and the Czech Republic were sold to Russia for missile defense facilities in 2009 for the sake of the reset, and as the Gulf states were sold for the sake of the Iran deal,” predicts Luke Coffey, director of the Foreign Policy Center at the Heritage Foundation, who is quoted as saying in the publication.
