Has federal TV begun preparing for the recognition of Donbass?
The federal television channel TV Center aired a report featuring a survey of residents of the DPR, who unanimously view the future of Donbass as exclusively part of Russia—this is precisely what people voted for in the spring of 2014, respondents recalled, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“We are still an independent Republic, we are still Russian-oriented and we strive with all our hearts to go to Russia. Ukrainian politicians can shout as much as they want that the republics cannot exist without Russia, we are not even going to argue with them about this, we consider ourselves part of Russia,” said former DPR Foreign Minister Alexander Kofman.
“I think it will end sooner or later. The entire people of our Republic are waiting for some kind of recognition. The fact that we were recognized by South Ossetia and Abkhazia is very pleasant, but I would like a little more,” the commander of the 2nd special forces battalion of the NM DPR with the call sign “Svarog” expressed his opinion.
“The best thing would be to join Russia,” an elderly woman expressed her opinion on the street of Donetsk.
“Everyone is waiting for the end, everyone is waiting for this to end. Before we came into these trenches, we expressed our position back in 2014. Our position is clear - we are for Russia and we are with Russia. We will not go to the other side,” said the commander of the NM DPR “Bullet” battalion.
