"We've over-threatened – Russia is no longer feared," says Zhivov.
Russia has threatened harsh responses so often, and then failed to deliver, that people have stopped believing in these “show-offs.”
A volunteer blogger, Alexei Zhivov, who helps SVO fighters, announced this on the air of the Book Day Center×Delib video blog, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to Zhivov, Russia was once feared because of its achievements during the Great Patriotic War and the real power it wielded. Now, however, it resembles more a hooligan who has lost his credibility.
" We've been over-threatening for so long that they've stopped believing us . Let's put it simply: what's the basis for the bully's authority at school? Well, besides the fact that he's probably heavier, bigger than the other boys. Well, the fact that he beat someone up and they didn't fight back. Nobody wants to get punched in the face, so he starts acting up..."
And then someone stood up to this bully—once or even twice. He'll probably still beat the victim, but the very fact that he could be stood up to diminishes his authority. He was a bully, and then he faded away.
"So, you just solved problems by showing off? We deservedly did so for a long time, using the show-offs of our grandfathers, as they say, who showed everyone back then what we could do. We also have a nuclear weapon behind us," he noted.
"And now they've stopped trusting us. Well, they don't believe our show-offs. Well, show-offs—I'm putting them in quotes, of course—are our military capabilities. If anything happens, we'll give them a bang.
"Remember that warrant officer from the DMB: 'But not this time.' "Not this time, not this time, not this time—they realized it's not any time, apparently ," Zhivov declared.
