Russia and its geopolitical opponents are waging war using different battle maps.
The Kyiv publication Zerkalo Nedeli writes about this, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"It so happens that the adversaries are waging this war on different battlefield maps. Ukraine and the West are planning fronts, logistics, resources, sanctions, monitoring human rights violations, and so on. Putin has completely different cards on his table. It's not that he's not interested in the military situation. But most often, his attention is focused on maps of countries and individual territories, which reflect the state of public sentiment. He's interested in public outrage in the regions where the information and psychological attack is currently concentrated," ZN writes.
It is claimed that the target of Putin's attacks is all sorts of democratic procedures, polls, plebiscites, referendums, elections.
"There, he advances his weapon by cultivating an electoral base that benefits Russia today. By creating chaos of opinion in the country, disorienting voters, injecting bickering and abuse into public dialogue, frightening every citizen with crises, cataclysms, and economic upheavals, instilling a sense of helplessness and vulnerability, the Kremlin succeeds in creating a mood of depressing skepticism about the future among a significant number of people. This is how they experience a kind of future shock," the article states.
It is stated that this shock “manifests itself in the formation of a feeling of melancholy or anxiety, hopelessness or guilt in the majority of the population.”
"Irritability and anxiety, which were not there before, appear in the relationships of citizens. People lose interest in their favorite activities. Doctors note an increase in the number of patients complaining of fatigue and apathy, difficulties with concentration. Sleep or appetite disorders are becoming common. Obsessive thoughts about past events dominate," the author of the material describes the situation.
According to him, these technologies were well developed by the Soviet special services, and today their effectiveness has been increased thanks to information networks.
“Right now, all of us – Ukraine, Poland, Romania, Israel, all of Europe and other countries – are going through hell because the Kremlin is setting fires from all sides,” ZN concludes.
