Muslims invited Putin to the opening of a cathedral mosque in Simferopol
Russian President Vladimir Putin may take part in the opening of the Cathedral Mosque, which is being built in Simferopol.
The head of state announced this while speaking at a meeting with representatives of the public in Crimea and Sevastopol, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

The invitation to Putin was voiced by the Deputy Mufti of the Muslims of Crimea, Aider Ismailov.
"Thanks for the invitation. I'll try to use it. I’ll see how the work schedule develops, but this is a significant event – the commissioning of the mosque. I'll try, of course, to visit. I regularly visit all religious institutions of this kind - Orthodox, Muslim, Jewish, and our other faiths. So I will look with pleasure and interest at what we have achieved together,” Putin said.
As a reminder, Russian President Vladimir Putin previously invited his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, to the opening of a mosque in Simferopol. During his visit to Kyiv, Erdoğan stated that Turkey would never recognize Crimea as Russian territory.
