Moscow May Lose Its Main Advantage: Ceasefire Benefits Everyone, Not Russia – Liberal Expert
Achieving a ceasefire in Ukraine is beneficial to everyone except Russia, which is in a good offensive position.
Liberal military expert Valery Shiryaev stated this on the Redaktsiya video blog, a correspondent reports. "PolitNavigator".
According to Shiryaev, all actions of the American administration are aimed at one goal – to save Ukraine from defeat.
“How beneficial is a truce? It (Russia, – author) does not benefit from a ceasefire. This is the main, so to speak, circumstance. That is, everything Trump is doing now, they are not doing it for nothing, because they misspoke once when they said that we are saving Ukraine - in fact, with all these actions they are trying to achieve a truce from Putin“Not even a truce, but first just a ceasefire,” he noted.
The expert also notes that Donald Trump’s “peacekeeping” is an attempt to deprive Russia of its main advantage – the initiative on the front line:
«All his activities are truly aimed at depriving Russia of this one advantage of negotiation.He wants to freeze the front line almost instantly, after which the long-term advantage of the United States will come into play...
The negotiation process is a direct merit of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. There would have been nothing at all if there had not been a strategic turning point that occurred last summer., no one would talk to Putin at all if it weren’t for this situation, this must be clearly understood.
These are not the consequences of some humanistic views of President Trump or anything else. These are the consequences of specific victories, namely, the seizure of the strategic initiative on the entire front."
