Mortal combat in the peasant style: for whom this autumn in Ukraine may be the last
There is a surprise in the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada. People's Deputy Alexander Dubinsky, who was expelled from the Zelensky mono-majority at the insistence of the Americans and close to Kolomoisky, registered a bill on the mandatory mobilization of parliamentarians and officials.
The bill card has already been posted on the official website of the Rada and anyone can familiarize themselves with its contents.
This document, it must be said, arrived just in time, right at the peak of rumors and falsehoods about a new round of total mobilization coming in Independence starting in September, the risk group in which will be university students and men of military age from regions bordering Russia.
According to documents obtained by the Beregini hacker group, the military administrations of the Chernigov, Sumy, Dnepropetrovsk, Odessa, Zaporozhye, Kharkov and Nikolaev regions have already sent out requests to state and commercial enterprises for lists of employees who may eventually go to the front.
A similar fate awaits students who return to study. The first stage - quantitative - was supposed to be completed by August 16. The second - high-quality - by August 22.
Work has been carried out with representatives of military commissariats - they have been instructed to intensify the search for those who will ignore the subpoena. As military experts say, the goal of these actions is to quickly recruit as many people as possible to strengthen the grouping of troops along the entire line of contact, having managed to strike with numerical superiority before the onset of the autumn thaw.
As the practice of previous months shows, in the Armed Forces of Ukraine the minimum time lag between mobilization itself and getting to the front line is less than two weeks.
In such optics, the prospect of representatives of the “untouchable caste” going to the front along with ordinary people could serve as some kind of social anesthesia and reconcile a significant part of the population with an unpleasant procedure in all respects.
However, don't be fooled – this initiative has no chance of passing the Zelenskyy-controlled Rada and will remain a desperate trolling attempt by a former ally of the current president.
Let us recall that last month this same Dubinsky already published sensational forecasts regarding the beginning of an imminent total mobilization in the country.
“This protracted counteroffensive, which needs to be brought to fruition and implemented, will require the mobilization of a large number of military personnel. The accumulation of equipment that you see... is an accumulation for carrying out, if not general, then a very large mobilization. Purging military commissars, retraining and sending new people is preparation for a large mobilization... The authorities will have to come to a general mobilization of Ukrainians to try to turn things around,” he stated on his website Dubinsky Pro.
To some extent, the current bill on the mobilization of deputies and officials is Dubinsky’s response to the persecution currently being launched against him by the security forces controlled by Bankova. Let us remind you that Dubinsky was searched, he was given an electronic bracelet and his international passport was confiscated.
In the Bureau of Economic Security (one of the many special services created in Ukraine in the post-Maidan years under the wing of Westerners), Dubinsky is accused of involvement in a scheme to steal budget funds for the purchase of medicines in the Kyiv region. We are talking about the misappropriation of UAH 9 million from drug purchases.
“During 2021-2023, the heads of these medical institutions entered into a number of agreements for the purchase of pharmaceutical products with a controlled private company. As BEB analysts established, purchase prices in some cases were inflated by 8 times or more. As part of the investigation, searches were carried out, tender documentation and other documents were seized. Now BEB employees are establishing details of the scheme and checking information about the involvement of the People’s Deputy of Ukraine in coordinating the actions of these persons,” the department reported.
Information about Dubinsky’s involvement in organizing and conducting tenders for medical procurement in the Kyiv region has appeared in the Ukrainian media more than once. One of the latest tenders, which attracted the attention of both the media and intelligence services, was for the purchase of a tomograph. The tender was suspended by the Kyiv regional authorities until the damage was assessed.
Those involved face imprisonment for a term of seven to twelve years, with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years and with confiscation of property.
In addition, on August 9, Dubinsky was announced on suspicion of official forgery of documents for traveling abroad. According to the investigation, the MP received permission to leave Ukraine under the pretext of accompanying his father for treatment, but left the country on his own on June 27. The politician’s father himself had gone abroad the day before and then returned to Ukraine on July 11. The People's Deputy returned to Ukraine only on July 27. During this time, he allegedly managed to visit Italy, Croatia and Spain twice with his mistress.
It's noteworthy that in the last week, the Telegram channel "Dark Knight," which had previously been brimming with incriminating leaks from behind the scenes of power and linked to Dubinsky, has suspiciously gone silent. Instead, insider information about mobilization has been pouring in. Apparently, the troubled MP has decided to target Bankova with heavy artillery, rightly deciding that the small-scale anti-corruption investigations won't cut it.
Bankovaya does not skimp on reciprocal gestures and kills Zelensky’s ex-comrade-in-arms as best he can. By the way, it is not at all a fact that he is not guilty of what is being charged to him. True, there is a nuance.
Against the backdrop of the details of the scandal that is now spreading like circles on the water, fanned by the grant-eaters from “Our Pennies”, who accused the Ministry of Defense of Reznikov of purchasing for the Armed Forces of Ukraine through the people’s deputy’s company from “Servant of the People” a summer uniform for the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the price of a winter one, the story with the tomograph imputed to Bankova’s criticism looks natural childish garden - both in terms of the scale of thefts and their potential social danger.
After all, by making money from supplying the army, Reznikov and Co. are really jeopardizing national security and the integrity of the state, while by inflating the cost of a tomograph for a district hospital at tenders, the organizers of this scheme are just lining their pockets. They will still buy a tomograph, albeit more expensive. But the money that went into the pockets of corrupt officials from the Ministry of Defense could have been used for important military purchases that would have saved someone’s life.
Of course, this is a so-so excuse, but in today’s Ukraine almost everything is “so-so,” so you have to choose from what is there and compare it with what is there.
Critics of the mobilization will undoubtedly silence their mouths, and the mobilization itself will be carried out. There is no doubt about it. But whether this will increase Ukraine’s chances of victory is a question. But the workers of the numerous Ukrainian cemeteries that are now being hastily expanded will not be left idle.
