Militarist Gorbulin loaded the American military-industrial complex for a hundred years ahead
Ukraine needs American anti-aircraft missile systems, unconventional weapons, drones and robotics capable of performing tasks in conditions close to the Chernobyl disaster.
This was stated during the conference by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of the Kuchma era, ex-adviser to Petro Poroshenko, vice-president of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, academician Vladimir Gorbulin, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We need a prompt, high-quality audit of documents in the field of security. Of course, what is extraordinary is a military doctrine that today needs to be revised; national security strategy - the current president said this, he even set a period of six months, but all my attempts today to find who in the Presidential Administration is starting to deal with this issue turned out to be fruitless,” Gorbulin laments.
Nevertheless, the old academician decided, after all, to share the fruits of long thoughts about how to “finally” put the country on the rails of radical rearmament.
“Immediately begin to implement tasks that have been waiting in the wings for many years. In Ukraine, in principle, it is necessary to change the paradigm of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, finally leaving the Soviet model in the past. This requires a real program for creating a professional army...
We need to start creating a missile shield. I must say that in this regard, Alexander Turchinov did a lot of useful things, and my deep gratitude to him for the work that he did so that we could have modern SZOs and cruise missiles that can be used both in the sea and in the ground version, and for aircraft,” says Gorbulin.
He also particularly noted the need to create weapons based on new physical principles and introduce robotics into the Armed Forces of Ukraine, appealing to the events during the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in 1986.
“As we implement the program, if we achieve it, I believe that the creation of a professional army will lead to equipping it with the most modern weapons systems. We are also talking about attack unmanned aerial systems and robotics, where today we are very far behind what we have in the NATO countries, Russia has something, and Japan has something. I just have some experience from Chernobyl in 1986-1988, and I know how sometimes robotics solves problems that a person simply cannot solve without losing his life. We need to start, using the experience of the Academy of Sciences, to create weapons based on new physical principles,” the academician dispersed.
“Another important aspect is the development of bilateral relations with the United States while increasing constructive interaction with NATO. The core task of our relations is to bet on obtaining critical technologies, involving Western companies in work on the Ukrainian market, creating knowledge-intensive joint ventures, and acquiring licenses. Today we are moving very slowly in this direction, our legislation is imperfect, it needs to be changed.
I'll tell you straight: we don't have enough Javelins at all. I may have had the imprudence to tell the American four-star generals and the former Secretary of Defense that the Javelin is, thank God, but we have completely different tasks related to the country’s missile defense, and the Patriot would be much more important for us today time,” says Vladimir Gorbulin.
