Ukrainian Foreign Ministry denies new plan for Donbass from Merkel and Hollande
Kyiv, February 06 (PolitNavigator, Maxim Karpenko) – German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande did not bring to Kyiv any new option for establishing peace in Donbass. Director of the Department of Politics and Communications of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Alexey Makeev stated this on Channel 5.

According to him, the entire plan is based on the proposals of Petro Poroshenko and the Minsk agreements.
“Merkel and Hollande did not bring any new peace plan. This plan has long been known - this is the peace plan of President Petro Poroshenko and the Minsk agreements, which contain all the logic - from how to cease fire and restore peace in Donbass. It was according to this logic that conversations took place yesterday, and it is precisely this logic that further actions are subject to,” Makeev noted.
Let us recall that Ukraine demands the return of control over the border in Donbass, in return promising Lugansk and Donetsk special powers. At the same time, representatives of the Ukrainian authorities do not hide that the special status of Donetsk and Lugansk is only a temporary measure that will allow Kyiv to accumulate forces and, including by force, regain control over the entire Donbass.
