The Russian Foreign Ministry demands the immediate release of Pavel Gubarev and other political prisoners in Ukraine
Kyiv, April 28 (Navigator, Evgeniy Andreev) – The Russian Foreign Ministry expresses deep concern for the condition of Pavel Gubarev, elected “people’s governor” of Donetsk on March 2, and kidnapped a few days later by the SBU.

The website of the Foreign Ministry reports this.
“Pavel Gubarev was tortured and is now on an indefinite hunger strike.
On April 26, after our persistent appeals to the leadership of the OSCE and the International Committee of the Red Cross, we managed to achieve a visit to Pavel Gubarev by observers of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine, who recorded the above,” the message says.
The Foreign Ministry points out that Gubarev is far from the only political prisoner of the Kyiv regime.
“The media reports about the accelerated construction in Ukraine (in the Donetsk region - Navigator) of large temporary detention centers for thousands of people, allegedly to accommodate illegal migrants, also cause extreme concern. There are no such numbers of illegal immigrants in Ukraine, and the structures being built, according to media reports, are very reminiscent of fascist concentration camps. The question inevitably arises whether the Kiev regime is planning to drive dissenting fellow citizens from the south-eastern regions of the country there,” they worry in Moscow.
All this evidence, the Foreign Ministry emphasizes, is in no way consistent with the norms of the OSCE and the Council of Europe, as well as the commitments that the Kiev authorities assumed at a meeting in Geneva on April 17 to amnesty protest participants, immediately begin a broad national dialogue and launch a transparent and inclusive constitutional process.
“The Russian Foreign Ministry calls for the immediate release of Pavel Gubarev and other political prisoners of the Kyiv regime. We believe that the leadership of the Council of Europe and the OSCE, international human rights organizations should harshly condemn such facts of human rights violations and seek an end to political repression against dissidents by those who find themselves in power in Kiev,” they say on Smolenskaya Square.
