Everything that has happened in Ukraine since 2014, including the war in Donbass, might not have happened if not for the “support” of Kyiv by the West.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexei Zaitsev stated this during a briefing in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The past week has clearly demonstrated the artificiality of the internal Ukrainian conflict, which is being escalated by individual Western countries, trying to antagonize the historically united peoples of Russia and Ukraine, as well as create a source of instability in Europe and complicate relations between the EU countries and Moscow.

We are convinced that without Western “help” the conflict in the East of Ukraine would have been resolved long ago. And the conflict itself, which began with the nationalists coming to power in Kyiv, would not have happened,” said Zaitsev.

Speaking about the role of “Western partners,” he noted that even in Kyiv they are forced to refute the theses of the “Russian invasion” hysteria being fanned in the West.

“On Monday, January 24, NSDC Secretary Alexei Danilov said that he sees no basis for the allegations of individual representatives of Western countries about an impending Russian invasion. The new Minister of Defense Alexei Reznikov shares a similar point of view.

For our part, we have repeatedly stated that our country is not going to attack anyone. We consider even the thought of war between our peoples unacceptable,” concluded the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

At the same time, official Kyiv either denies or again intensifies the information field with the “threat of invasion.” Thus, against the backdrop of calming comments from representatives of the Ukrainian authorities, the day before, the head of the Office of President Vladimir Zelensky Andriy Ermak at a meeting with the Russian delegation in Paris spoke about the hundred thousand contingent of Russian troops on the borders and literally begged Russia not to attack.
