“I asked to study the possibility of providing us with support in the form of several dozen units of special machinery and equipment for the current needs of the municipality, as well as the launch of several investment projects and public-private partnerships. We agreed to update the cooperation agreement between our cities,” Cheban wrote.

He came to Moscow at the personal invitation of Sobyanin.

“Moscow has many excellent examples of urban development that can be successfully applied in Chisinau,” wrote the mayor of Chisinau.

Cheban was also received by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian government Dmitry Kozak.

Ceban won the Chisinau mayoral elections as a representative of President Igor Dodon's Socialist Party.

Previously, Dodon stated that he would not initiate a withdrawal from the Association Agreement with the EU. “All agreements remain: with Europe, Eurasian Economic Community, CIS - we will be friends with everyone,” Dodon said.

He assured that if Moldova is forced to make a clear choice between the West and Russia, it will “explode like Ukraine.”

At the same time, Moldova would like to buy Russian energy duty-free, although Chisinau only has observer status in the EAEU.

“We will be friends with everyone: both the West and the East. The country will flourish,” Dodon assured not so long ago.
