This opinion was expressed on Friday at a meeting of a group of Kurultai delegates and representatives of the Crimean Tatar public, Vice-Speaker of the State Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan, member of the Mejlis Remzi Ilyasov told the QHA news agency.

About 40 people attended the meeting. The speakers noted that the Mejlis had not implemented the Resolution of the Armed Forces of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea of ​​March 11 “On guarantees of restoration of the rights and freedoms of the Crimean Tatar people...”, as well as the decisions of the Kurultai on entering into power in order to cover the 20 percent quota and more effectively solve pressing problems. problems of the Crimean Tatars.

Regarding the decision taken by the Majlis to boycott the upcoming elections, an opinion was expressed about the haste of its adoption, because at “the fateful moment, before making such decisions, it was necessary to organize broad consultations with the Kurultai delegates and the Crimean Tatar public, to analyze the events and make an assessment activities over the past period."

According to those gathered, “decisions must be weighed as much as possible, prepared taking into account all existing circumstances, ensure the preservation and development of the system of national self-government of the Crimean Tatar people, and suppress any manifestations of confrontation between people on ethnic grounds.”

Particularly emotionally, the meeting participants pointed out, as noted in the QHA material, that the Crimean Tatars live in their historical homeland, and therefore, “they do not have the right to remain passive observers, and moreover, it is necessary to initiate and present their vision, to achieve the adoption of decisions that the people need, participate in the economic, social and political life of Crimea.”

The meeting participants believe that now it is advisable to hold round tables, meetings and meetings with compatriots in order to clarify and assess the real situation, and conduct an open dialogue with the public.

Let us recall that on Thursday the Mejlis decided “not to nominate candidates for election as deputies of the State Council of Crimea and representative bodies of municipalities of the Republic of Crimea,” and also to urge residents of Crimea not to participate in the elections of deputies of the local parliament.
