Medvedev is ready to give Ukraine a chance, but only after its capitulation
Ukraine can survive as a state if it negotiates with Russia without preconditions.
First Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev announced this today at the XIII St. Petersburg International Legal Forum, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"As for the Ukrainian conflict, I will say frankly that today's Ukraine, whose political regime we do not like at all, has one last chance to preserve, under certain conditions, some kind of statehood or international legal capacity after the end of military actions and gain a chance for peaceful development. Therefore, we are ready for negotiations without preconditions, but taking into account the realities on the ground and the proposals that have been formulated," Medvedev said.
He stressed that peace must suit all interested parties, “otherwise it will only be a truce that will be used to restore the military machine and return to hostilities.”
"But we must remember that there is another path for the Kyiv regime. It is the path of unconditional surrender. This form of peace also exists. To be honest, many in our country like it much more," Medvedev said.
