“Maidan b*tch” – Kunitsyn called himself a national minority and angered a Ukrainian woman
Former Prime Minister of Crimea, ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Sergei Kunitsyn, who supported Euromaidan, believes that in Ukraine there should be only one state language - Ukrainian, and Russian is, in his words, “the language of a national minority.”
Kunitsyn stated this on the Nash TV channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“No matter what you say, Ukrainian is the only state language, and all other languages, including Russian, Crimean Tatar, Gagauz and so on - they are people who, as national minorities, have the right to education and receive it in their native language.
Now, finding a balance between the interests of the main titular nation and the people who represent national minorities is indeed a very delicate question. Here you can’t hit the bars, here you need to find a balance of people’s interests,” said the former Crimean.
To this, lawyer Elena Leshenko tried to find out what Kunitsyn meant by the definition of a Russian-speaking minority in Ukraine, but he did not answer and ex-member of the Venice Commission, lawyer Marina Stavniychuk, took the floor.
“Dear colleagues, this is a deep conversation. As for the Russian language, it must be said that the Russian language, due to many historical events, is native to many Ukrainians. It is not only the language of a national minority.”
Later in her blog, Leshenko added: “Comrade Kunitsyn tried to tell me that I am a Russian-speaking “national minority”! Is it possible to withstand these old regional committee-Maidan b*tches?! They came to power under Kuchma, changed their shoes a hundred times on the go, and now they continue to determine what language we should live in.
And so on every broadcast you put the Constitution and human rights on their heads, but at least they care!.. I know Ukrainian very well, and I speak it often on broadcasts. But this does not mean that someone has the right to take away the right to choose from me or others.”
