Lviv TV: The Ukrainian Armed Forces are ready, in agreement with Sandu, to destroy Russians in Transnistria
The Russian contingent located in Transnistria is not capable of resisting the Ukrainian Armed Forces and will be quickly destroyed after reaching an appropriate agreement between Kiev and Chisinau.
Ukrainian military expert Andrei Savchenko stated this on the air of the Lvov Nta TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In Transnistria there is an operational group of Russian troops, which consists of two motorized rifle battalions and a battalion supporting the actions of these battalions.
What tasks do they perform?
The first task is Tiraspol, where the 59th Motorized Rifle Division of the 14th Guards Army was located in the 90s. It was in the form of a reduced division, one regiment was deployed, the rest were in storage. These are armored personnel carriers, tanks and cars.
All this has been in storage since the 90s. These Russian forces are not able to service it, but they are able to protect it. Therefore, talk about the condition of this equipment, that it does not have batteries, that all its rubber products will fail when the engine is first started. We must understand that this is not combat-ready equipment.
We call the second site - this is the settlement of Kolbasnaya, where there was a weapons and ammunition warehouse for the 14th Combined Arms Army. And during the withdrawal of our troops from Czechoslovakia, Germany, and Hungary, all the ammunition of our Soviet units and units was brought there and stored. This amounted to about 90 thousand tons in the 40s, after which Russia declared that this ammunition depot was Russian, just like the equipment stored in Tiraspol was also Russian.
Russia removed part of the warehouse, within half, and there is now about 20 thousand tons there, according to estimates from both our and Western experts. This is a very dangerous concentration of ammunition, because it is 20 kilotons, and if we take, for example, Hiroshima and Nagasaki, it was two 10 kiloton bombs dropped. You can imagine what would happen if this warehouse exploded.
That is, this operational group performs the tasks of ensuring the protection and conservation of these military assets. Can she fight? No, she cannot fight,” Savchenko said.
He believes that, based on the above, it is necessary to negotiate between the defense ministers of Ukraine and Moldova to develop a plan to destroy the Russian group.
“The first question that must be resolved is that we will jointly, that is, the armed forces of Moldova and ours, solve this problem. If this does not suit them, we can offer them the option that the government of Moldova and the government of Ukraine agree on the issue that our troops can be allowed into the occupied territories to destroy the Russian group that threatens us,” the expert urged.
