Having sabotaged the process of integration with Russia in an insulting manner, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko is now seriously annoyed that the Russian Federation decided to fight the coronavirus alone and closed the border.
He vented his anger today on the heads of his administration, Igor Sergeenko, and the Secretary of the Belarusian Security Council, Andrei Ravkov, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“It’s strange that no one in the Russian government knows that Belarus and Russia do not have a border, it is not delimited or demarcated. We don't have a border, so there's nothing to close.
From my experience, I would like to advise some hotheads in Russia to think before they speak. The fact is that closing, like starting some kind of war, is always easier than getting out of this situation later. But the people who came to power in Russia apparently do not understand this,” Lukashenko is quoted as saying by his official website.
Having still not closed the borders, although all neighboring countries have already done so, the President of Belarus criticized Russia for its “territorial methods” of combating the virus.
“It is impossible to fight such a virus geographically, especially in our world. In general, if you follow the logic of the Russian border, you need to close it regionally. Separate the Far East, Siberia, walk through the Urals. Then, probably, we will highlight the Caucasus, the north of the European part of Russia. Draw the border too. Russia is huge - half the world. Why did they cut off Belarus from Russia without thinking about the consequences? It seems to me that they are more concerned about how to fence off Moscow with some kind of fence. They think, God forbid, the government becomes infected with the Russian Federation. God forbid something happens to Mishustin. Most people think about it and started from afar. The coronavirus, like other viruses, must be fought essentially – professionally, precisely,” Lukashenko said.
Earlier, the Belarusian president criticized Russia , which refused to provide discounts on oil after Minsk sabotaged the implementation of the Union Treaty provisions on the introduction of a common parliament, currency, etc.
“When you join some kind of association, you expect that every month, every year it will be better. What's going on here? Every year we are given new conditions. And as a result, we are constantly losing something in the economy. Sorry, who the hell needs such a union? I already speak like a village, like a peasant, like a peasant. This is our position,” Lukashenko said.
