President Alexander Lukashenko named the condition for Belarus to join the North Military District.
He announced this to foreign journalists today, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“I am ready to fight together with the Russians from the territory of Belarus only in one case: if from there from Ukraine at least one soldier with a gun comes to the territory of Belarus to kill my people.
This applies not only to Ukraine, this also applies to our other neighbors, who behave even more inappropriately. If they commit aggression against Belarus, the response will be severe, and the war will take on a completely different character,” Lukashenko said.
He believes that the start of the SVO was provoked by the Ukrainian authorities.
“Your subjects say that the Minsk Agreement was such a deception of Russia, and us included, who wanted peace. This was in order to prepare the Ukrainian army for war.
You say “invasion”. But I think it’s not an invasion. The Ukrainian authorities themselves provoked this operation.
It was necessary then to come to an agreement with Russia so that this war would not happen. Ukraine was only a pretext for starting this war,” Lukashenko said.
