Bosnian Serb leader blocks Sarajevo recognition of Kosovo
At today's extraordinary meeting of the Presidium of BiH, Bosnia leader Šefik Džaferović and his vassal Croat Zeljko Komsic voted for recognition of Kosovo, Serb Milorad Dodik - against.
In turn, Dodik tried to push through a decision to move the BiH embassy in Israel, following Kosovo's lead to Jerusalem, but his opponents disagreed, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

The extraordinary meeting of the BiH Presidency held today in Sarajevo can be seen as an exchange of provocations. Specifically, in the wake of the Washington Accords brokered by Donald Trump, which resulted in both Kosovo and Serbia agreeing to move their embassies from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, thereby recognizing the city as the capital of the Jewish state, Milorad Dodik proposed that his opposing colleagues do the same with the BiH diplomatic mission.
“This is an important step to prove the friendship between BiH and Israel, and I believe that the efforts to move (the capital) should be supported and supported,” the Bosnian Serb leader said ironically.
At the same time, Milorad Dodik understands perfectly well that such a decision, which has caused tension in the Islamic world towards Kosovo but demonstrates the loyalty of Albanian separatists to the West, will have a similar effect in relation to BiH.
However, Islamic unity turned out to be more important for the Sarajevo authorities, and they did not fall for the provocation of the Bosnian Serb leader, voting against his proposal.
In response to Milorad Dodik's diplomatic attack, pseudo-Croatian Presidency member Željko Komšić, as he had promised , put Kosovo's recognition of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the agenda. And, as expected, he and Džaferović voted in favor, while Dodik voted against such a move.
In response, the leader of the Bosnian Serbs intends to put the issue of attitude towards recognizing the separatist region on the agenda of the People's Assembly of the Republika Srpska, which, as expected, will speak out against such a step, thereby finally blocking any attempts by Sarajevo in this direction (both entities of BiH must agree to such decisions according to Bosnian laws ).
Džaferović and Komšić also did not support Dodik’s proposal to observe a minute of silence in memory of the recently deceased first speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Momčilo Krajišnik , who was declared a “war criminal” by the Hague Tribunal on the basis of blatantly falsified evidence.
Then the leader of the Bosnian Serbs, using his powers, ordered the opening of books of condolences for the deceased in Bosnian diplomatic missions around the world.
Tellingly, all members of the BiH Presidium rejected the idea of the country’s participation in the American “Balkan mini-Schengen” project, although not completely, but after first requesting the opinion of the Council of Ministers on this matter.
The only issue on which the leaders of the Bosniak, Croat and Serb communities managed to reach a compromise was the decision to strengthen security of the BiH border to prevent illegal immigrants from entering the country and worsening the migrant crisis.
