Lavrov: The hostage situation has not changed after the negotiations
The Kiev regime refuses to use humanitarian corridors provided by the Russian military to evacuate its citizens and students from China, India and a number of African and Asian countries.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced this today at a press conference in Moscow.
“The Ukrainian authorities are well aware of the proposals that are being made “on the ground” by our military personnel. In particular, the situation in Kharkov, where there were many foreign students, was discussed. Our military and emergency services already had 150 comfortable buses with food and warm clothes, and were ready to receive foreign students. However, the Ukrainian authorities holding Kharkov refused to open this corridor. And in general, one gets the impression from this and similar episodes that the Ukrainian regime is not averse to holding foreigners and civilians as hostages,” Lavrov said.
According to him, the situation has not changed even after reaching an agreement at Russian-Ukrainian negotiations in Belovezhskaya Pushcha.
“We expected that this agreement would be strictly implemented. Our military did all the work that depended on them. The main thing now is that people are released from cities and towns through the created humanitarian corridors.
Today, information appears on social networks that the authorities of Mariupol refuse to provide residents with the opportunity to leave through the humanitarian corridor that was created by the Russian military.
There is information from the city of Kherson: when the humanitarian corridor opened, our representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, who went to help civilians evacuate, wanted to deliver humanitarian aid there, but (we are now rechecking this) allegedly the Kherson authorities refused to accept such humanitarian aid.”
This is very similar to the manners of the Kyiv regime, which, unfortunately, is guided solely by considerations of escalating confrontation in a grossly Russophobic manner. Only the fate of civilians comes last,” Lavrov said.
