Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov did not confirm the scenario previously published in the media about the extension of Vladimir Putin’s powers after the end of his current presidential status, but in a new role - the leader of the united state of Russia and Belarus.

“There is nothing in the Union Treaty that could lead to speculation that its purpose is to bring someone to the “presidential throne.” Read it. You are professionals. This is not there,” Lavrov said in an interview with the RBC agency.

The minister also urged not to trust the information of the Nezygar Telegram channel, which claimed that the reason for the recent change of the Russian Ambassador to Belarus was allegedly the irritation of Minsk with the firm line of Mikhail Babich, who firmly insisted on the real reunification of the two fragments of the Soviet Union.

“They showed me the Nezygar telegram channel a couple of times, because the Russian ambassador was mentioned there. I don’t think this channel deserves such attention,” Lavrov said.
