“Unity” round table in Kyiv: The authorities are again lagging behind the real agenda

…The round table in the Verkhovna Rada, which, according to its organizers, was supposed to serve reconciliation in Ukraine, evokes a strong historical association for me. When you read about the Great French Revolution, you can clearly see what happens to a government that is one step behind the real agenda.
Everyone demanded the convening of the Estates General “here and now,” but the king promised to convene “but later” - in 5 years. In the end, they were convened anyway, but not after 5 years, but just a year later. Then everyone realized that voting by class did not correspond to the moment, but they stubbornly stood their ground, and eventually played out the ball game. Then it became clear that the National Assembly is a real body with which it is necessary to negotiate, but it took the storming of the Bastille for the king to eventually admit this. Etc. and so on.
In winter, we all saw how Yanukovych followed the same path trodden by Louis. And now the Junta is marching across it.
Representatives of the system elites of Donetsk and Lugansk were invited to a round table in the Verkhovna Rada. Why them? Well, because in Donetsk and Lugansk the counter-system elites held a referendum. Isn't that logical? Local deputies and businessmen, if they are shareholders of the DPR and LPR, are clearly minority ones. It is obvious that in Donbass it is not them you need to talk to. At the same time, one can understand Kyiv that negotiating with Strelkov or Bolotov is not comme il faut. But there are political leaders like Gubarev!
At the same time, no one is holding any negotiations with Odessa and Kharkov, which are clearly following the exit from the Junta. What for? There is no referendum. Everything is logical! Moreover, at this very stage, through dialogue with local deputies and influential businessmen, it would still be possible to reach some result that could prevent the escalation of violence. Instead, in Odessa, opposition deputies are going to be put in prison, and they even manage to report about it!
In short, the second half of the Ukrainian elite, who overthrew the Family, did not understand anything and learned nothing. Double Bourbon everyone, gentlemen!
