According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred in the very center of the Serbian enclave of Gracanica, located in the center of the region. A patrol of Kosovo police militants stopped a car with two young Serbs, 24 and 19 years old, and then began issuing a fine for not wearing seat belts.
In turn, the young people demanded that the act be written in Serbian, and not in Albanian, which they do not understand. In response to this, the militants asked:
“Do you even understand where you live?”
After which they pulled the guys out of the car and began beating them in front of many people.
As a result, one of the young Serbs ended up in the hospital, the other was taken to the police station, near which indignant local residents began to gather.
