Constantinople trembled
The second day of the meeting of the Synod of the Patriarchate of Constantinople in Istanbul did not bring the news expected by Ukrainian nationalists about the recognition of a church structure independent from Moscow. Some hierarchs refused to support the non-canonical decision.
Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Vasily Volga reports this in his blog, calling for prayer on the eve of the third and final day of the Synod meeting in Istanbul.

“There are very cautious signals that there will be no church schism in Ukraine.
The second day of the Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate has ended. The Synod has not yet adopted anything consoling for the schismatics. There are flashes of information that the issue of providing Thomas to Ukraine has been dropped altogether.
They say that many hierarchs in the Ecumenical Patriarchate itself opposed the schism.
Some simply refused to go to a meeting of their own Synod, so as not to take part in such blasphemy, and so as not to be the cause of a schism. So as not to go against Christ Himself, who prayed to His Father for church unity: “That they all may be one, just as You, the Father, are in me, and I in You, so may they also be one in Us, so that the world may believe that You have sent Me". John 17:21.
Orthodox pray,” Volga called.
