"Since we are talking about May 9": Moscow reminded Germans of unpaid reparations
The Germans still owe Moscow reparations, the payment of which was suspended due to prejudice against the Soviet leadership.
Deputy Director of the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vladislav Belov stated this at a round table in Moscow, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

Setting the topic for the discussion, the moderator noted that “Germany’s economic miracle was not only and not so much due to the Marshall Plan, but thanks to cheap Russian gas and the policies of Willy Brandt.”
"I agree, of course, that Germany's economic miracle was built not only on the infrastructure support of the US and Western Europe. Since we are talking about May 9 and the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, it is worth reminding our "allies and partners" that they refused to transfer the corresponding reparations supplies, payments from the Western occupation zones, which had been agreed upon, justifying it by saying that the Soviet administration does not behave that way. And to remind us a little bit that they still owe us certain amounts that they have not paid us,” Belov said.
